PVC/Thermoplastics

Lightweight, corrosion-resistant ductwork for cost-sensitive exhaust systems.

When exhaust composition and temperature are well defined, Viron’s thermoplastic duct systems offer reliable performance at the lowest lifecycle cost.

Built from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polypropylene (PP), these systems provide exceptional chemical resistance for acids, caustics, and solvents common in municipal, OEM, and laboratory applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What operating temperatures can PVC and PP handle?

They’re selected for defined, lower-temperature exhaust within thermoplastic limits. For elevated temperatures, our engineers will confirm compatibility or recommend FRP or SSTeelcoat®.

How are joints fabricated?

PVC sections are hot-gas fusion-welded with PVC filler rod; PP sections are heat-fusion welded. Both methods provide leak-tight performance without field wrapping or sealing.

Can thermoplastic ductwork be used outdoors?

Yes. UV-resistant coatings and pigmented formulations protect against sunlight and weather exposure.

What are the lead times?
Lead times vary by diameter, coating, and configuration; we confirm schedules during engineering review.
